    Good thoughts, but it's pretty Anglocentric as a whole. There are a whole host of other intriguing leagues to address (Ukrainian, Serbian, Greek, Japanese, Egyptian, Chilean, Mexican 2nd Division, 3rd Liga - the new fully professional German 3rd division) that aren't in English speaking countries.

    From the base of Fifa 08 leagues, I would add Russian, Croatian, Serbian, Greek and Japanese Leagues. And I would quit leagues with 0 impact on world football like Australian, Irish or Norwegian.
    But what I really miss in the game is not additional leagues but more stadiums. At least a handfull of stadiums (although fake ones, I don't mind) representing each league because it's frustrating not to see any difference when you play Portuguese League and SPL for example, other than names, jerseys and ratings. Its all the same and at the end you really don't mind if there is 1000 leagues, cos 80% look the same.
    So, more quality, less quantity please EA.

    Sorry but that's stupid...
    You want the Irish and Northern Ireland League in the game (was there ever a team in UEFA Cup?), but you say the SFL isn't worth it? Even the third Scottish League has better players than these 2 leagues.
    As Arshavin and Matthew already said, there also many other interesting leagues from other countries than UK...

    The Leagues are fine most ppl dont even use half the leagues anyway. Really annoys me htat ppl request these unknown leauges when EA could be doing so much more things to the game.

    Once the gameplay is near perfect then concentrate on other things.

    Heres some leagues that i think need representation-
    1.Japan
    2.Russian
    3.Egyptian
    4.Argentina
    5.Colombian
    6.Serbian
    7.Croatian
    8.Romania
    9.Greek
    10.Lower leagues for Italy (seria c1a and c1b), German, Spanish, French

    I think all of these should be add, but the most practical would be to add the lower leagues for the most popular since most ppl like to play in them. But this is just my opinion

    also, i disagree with USL. THough not great by any means, it is a good league with lots of clubs and is growing in popularity. I would say yes to it just bc of the fan bases you would have for it. People in cities with a usl team would more than likely play with these teams some.

    Can i ask something ? Xbox 360 FIFA 09 in the league mode can two control player switch to each other side ? In FIFA 08 cannot do that . Which means 'A' take liverpool , 'B' take Mau U.
    When liverpool plays againt spur 'A' switch liverpool. 'B' switch to spur . 08 cannot do that 'A' and 'B' have switch to one side to liverppool . In PS 2 can do that . PS3 and Xbox360 cannot . Hope in league mode can play more 5 season And can edit the shirt colour . Thank you .

    Ok, what i think people really need to understand is this, The leagues that EA will put into this game will need to be ones that will spread the games popularity within certain countries, not tht it isnt already popular.
    Another is that they put leagues in with already big fan bases and established leagues something that can make the game more enjoyable. They also need to think about the international audience, Many people love playing with EPL or SerieA or the bundesliga, you need to think about the leagues that will give the greatest growth for people in South America and Asia and other European leagues.
    Some lower leagues would be nice but you need to think of the bigger picture, Sure, you can play with your hometown team but would someone internationally play as them...Probably not.

    So in my honest non-biased opinion i think these leagues should be added:
    1. Argentina (Great teams, Great fans, Huge tradition, Inceased game sales)
    2. Russia (Rising league in popularity, Quality players, Team exposure)
    3.Greece (Quality league that is shadowed, Rising exposure of teams, Games sales)
    4.Japan (Quality league, Great fans, Huge Game growth and exposure)
    5.Columbia/Chile (Great teams, tradition, and fans, Huge game exposure, Untapped market)
    6.Romania (Quality League, Good recent exposure popular league, and for the constant bickering that this league should be included)

    The new Leagues that should be added on fifa 09 are:
    Argentinian Premier League - Because Argentina are the best international team in the world
    Russian Premier League - Because the league is on the up and also the russian league could bring in new stadiums such as the Luzhniki Stadium

    The new stadiums that should be added on fifa 09 are:
    Ibrox
    Celtic Park
    White Hart lane
    Santiago Bernabeu
    City of Manchester Stadium
    Luzhniki Stadium
    Amsterdam Arena

    A new generic stadium for Lower league teams instead of Estadio De las Artes, UK DIV 1 & 2. A suggestion for a stadium is one similar to the Walkers Stadium and St. Marys Stadium

    Fifa 09 should also include proper Goalkeeper Kits for every team!!!!!
    Its really annoying when you are about to start a career and you then notice how horrible the Goalkeeper top is!!!!!
    It is one of the major issues on the game in my opinion, if EA can get all of the teams outfield kits then why don't they get GK kits!?

    why don't two people get to do manager mode at the same time . picking different teams and taking them different ways . because if one player was at a big club he could loan or sell playerz to the other player who mite be at a little club and make the champs league official.

    In my Opinion :
    1. Romania must be added (im english) and romania had very good performance in europe... as well at EURO2008...
    2. russian league ( they win the UEFA CUP)
    3 copa lipertadores ( there is very hight quality foball)

    i think serbia should be in the game they are in the olympics they are a good side players like nemanja vidic of manchester united play ........i dont think it is fair to have sides like slovenia in the game when they havent qualified for a tournament in years and leave serbia out also the serbian league should be in place or a balkan top teams league

    The Greek Superleague is long overdue. The Argentines, Japanese and Russians also. I have to say that previous comments about the blandness of the stadiums being the same is very true. Please change it, EA.

    OK. You know, That thing that disturbes me is that EA concentrates in adding english leagues.
    I don't want EA to remove leagues. I want EA to add some.
    1) The GREEK SUPERLEAGUE. It has great teams. These teams do well in european cups. Many good players have come to this league. For example, Gilberto Silva. He has been transfered to Panathinaikos. Leto, who is in Olympiacos now. Majistorovic, Basinas and Kyriakos who are in AEK Athens FC. Some great players who are in Aris and Larisa.
    2) The Russian League. (Well, I don't know much about this league, but i know that there are some teams that do well in the UEFA CUP. So, this league should be added.)
    3) The Argentinian League. This league has some very good players that are not very popular.
    I also want EA to add some stadiums.
    1) OAKA ATHENS. It's a very nice stadium, and the UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL was there.
    2) KARAISKAKI. It's a nice stadium that EA should add.
    3) The new stadium of Panathinaikos. It is not finished now, but when it will be finished, it will be one of the best stadiums in europe.

    Let's get the point . EA concentrates too much on the british teams. Yes, they have great performances but tht's not a reason to exclude the other leagues from the game.So here is my opinion:
    1)Liga I (Romania) beacause they improved a lot , Romania is on the 11th place in the World . Steaua Bucharest is near by the 3th qualification in the UCL and they win this competition in 1986. Also the Champions of the Romanian LIga I goes in the UCL Group Stage (CFR Cluj).
    2)Russian League . Because the Russian team did a great job at Euro2008 and Zenit and Spartak Moscow win the UEFA Cup .
    3)Argentina . They have great teams like River Plate , Gimnasia La Plata , Boca Juniors , Independiente , Colon , etc.......

    1) Ghencea Staium ( Steaua Bucharest's Ground)
    2)Birds Nest (From the opening of the Beijing 2008 Olympycs)
    3)The Stadium from the UCL Final in Moscow.....I don't know the name:D
    And some Tournaments :
    UEFA Champions League
    Copa Libertadores
    UEFA Cup
    And Adrian Mutu's real name instead of Andrei Murgu.

    here wats up wiv sayin that the scotish lower divions arent good enough.
    and yet some how the northen irish leauge and lower irish leauge may be getting added
    well sotlands lower leagues are not that bad all these newly premoted teams inb th spl with 3 star or 2 and a half all come from the lower leauges
    fifa 09 also need 2 have more teams for european tornements like for the qualifing rounds like wee teams from serbia or slovakia or finland u get the idea
    and u must add more international teams and add the uefa cup and champions leauge and add hampden and ibrox and celtic park

    I fully agree about adding the Irish Premier League. I am from Northern Ireland, and many people criticise the league saying that its rubbish, but its not. I live in Bangor and support the football team and they have been promoted into this new look intriguing league, and would be excited to see them in fifa.

    EA sports come to NI and watch a game and you'll know just what I mean!

    More leagues would make the game way better. I think fifa shud concentrate the most on manager mode! dont u agree that it is funnest part of the game? More stadiums would be great, greek superleague, argentine league, romanian league, japanese league and the russian league. If it is too difficult to add in some small leagues around the world at least add the big teams from those leagues so they can be selected in "rest of world". Also some more international teams would be nice. Another thing dont you get annoyed when you play like with second division teams and the stadium is full like it is a derby or finals game? Make the fan support more realistic. But most of all always try to improve manager mode... it is the most addictive part of the game

    The blue square premier teams should be added to fifa 09 as the standard of the league is better than leagues like the irish league and the australian league and there would be a sizeable fanbase to support the leagues addition.

    Can someone tell me for sure what the new leagues are? I've heard only Argie and Bulgarian.

    Is Romanian league in/are there Romanian teams??

    You cannot just put Cluj after last year winning it.

    Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid are 100x bigger sides with more support and medals.

    The Irn-Bru Scottish League 1 should definately be added. If you have the SPL in it, why not bother putting the league lower than it in. All you get is repetitive season play, with the same teams, year in year out. It adds a bit of fun to the gameplay, rather than being faced off with last seasons SPL drop-outs.

    And on the subject - Every Country that has a top flight league represented, should have a lower league so it allows for promotion/relegation. Its just common sense, or people will get bored very very quickly...

    The Greek and the Russian league are the 2 most important leagues that should be in the game without any discussion because in the Greek and Russian league you have a lot of talents and big players like Gilberto Silva, Rivaldo, Diogo,Vagner Love,Odemwingie,Zhirkov,Pogrebnyak,Pavlyuchenko.. and they always are represented very well in international football with Zenit winning the Uefa cup this year

    i think that the romanian championship is a good one and star players from Euro 2008 like Radoi,Nicolita,Dica(Steaua Bucarest),Lobont, Marius Niculae,Tamas(Dinamo Bucarest), Dorsin,Kone(CFR Cluj)need to be in this great game!!!!Also don't forget that Radu Stefan(Lazio), Sapunaru(FC Porto), and Lazlo Sepsi (Benfica just came from the romanian first division (also known as Liga1)!!!

    Is a very good idea to include Liga1 (Romania first divizion) in FIFA 2009 for us and the Romanian are grow up very much in the last yers and she as very talented players like:Mirel Radoi,Bogdan Lobont,Banel Nicolita,Dorin Goian,etc also this player are play to the Euro 2008. I hope to include Liga 1 in FIFA 2009

    i totaly agree :X if romanian, russian,aregentinian and greek leagues would be in 09 it would be awesome!
    Romania has 7 teams in europeans cups ( 2-ucl 5-uefa),clubs with tradition, and the atmosphere on the stadiums is awesome
    Russia reached the semi finals at euro 08 and won the uefa cup with zenit
    Argentina has awesome clubs , young talented players and won the olimpic title
    and finaly greece has great clubs with tradition , they play good footbal

    personally i want more stadiums in fifa 09, and the romanian league, no beacause im from Romania, but teams like Steaua Bucharest( fortza STEAUA:D) , rapid bbuc, and dinamo buc are great teams that play in Europe in every year.

    also it would be greater for us,fifa players , that the uefa champions league and the uefa cup , be more realistic

    and why not teams from small countrys ( San Marino, Malta, Feroe,Luxembourg,etc) at rest of the world that could participate in UCL and UEFA :)))

    the romanian leagues is in the top10 european leagues, so it realy desirves to be included in the fifa 09 , awlays has a team in chl and 2-3 others in the european spring, good national squad with 7 teams playing in european cups this year.

    I agree with the addition of the irish premier league and the welsh premier league (because its unfair to leave the welsh out if all other UK countries are in), Setanta Cup idea is excellent, it would boost sales in Ireland massivley and with the addition of the Welsh Premier League, FIFA would crush PES in the UK and make it virtually non-existant. Personally I love the idea of playing Barca at the Nou Camp with Lisburn Distillery but thats just me being biast. Secondly I think the addition of the Argentine and Russian leagues in 09 is not an option, its a nessisty. Considering the success of Zenit and Russian national team this year and the fact the Brazil league has been in FIFA for years. i'd be pretty mad if I was Argentine with Brazil getting their league in FIFA, its unfair, like southern ireland having their league FIFA and the north not, is unfair. They are obviously adding 15 stadiums for a reason considering they could have added more stadiums last year since they had the capacity too. They don't have the licence for the beurnabea, PES has that so i believe the stadiums will be:
    Hampden Park
    Ibrox and Celtic Park (wont add one and not the other)
    White Hart Lane
    Luzhniki Stadium
    Ernst-Hapel Stadium
    Estadio da Luz
    Drago
    Jose Avarladze
    Bessa
    The other mexican stadium
    Home Depot Center
    Stade de France (like 2003)
    Some Asian stadium
    Another Euro 2008 stadium or Croke Park
    One of the Istanbul stadiums or the Ataturk
    Notice EA dont claim to have added 15 'brand' new stadiums, more than likely re-used stadiums.
    Not to offend any Scandonavians but I think the Norweigan league and maybe the Denmark league should be removed from the list to fit in the new leagues. please add the IPL, its sponsered by JJB, thats gotta count for something, like Wigan, EA added a single JJB team, why not add an entire league.

    By the way i was grovelling to EA there don't listen to me. In all seriousness Russian and Argentine leagues need to be in, then maybe Northern Ireland, Wales and Romania leagues can be considered, and by the way just no to the whole albania idea. come on whose gonna play a bunch of illegal immigrants, theres no one in Albania to play in the league, their all on the back of truck crossing the English Channel.

    I think that the irish league,the scottish league and some other leagues that are in the game are very low quality and should not be in the game and i think that Greek,argentinian and russian league should be in the game.

    I think that should be in the game the argentinian league the russian league and of course the greek league.Greek league may not be a very high quality league but is better than the league of ireland,northern ireland and is better than the lower english leagues.The greek league should be in the game and i believe that in the fifa 2009 will be the greek league.

    The Russian premier league NEED to be in the game!!
    The first team i'd start a career with is Zenit St. Petersburg what a great team Arshavin, Danny, Pogrebnyak, Anyukov, Zyrianov, Fatih Tekke, Tymoschuk, Puygrenier, Fayzulin, Krizanac..

    The most of these players are Internationals for their country, they won UEFA Cup(CSKA Moscow a few years ago), They play in Champions League, They beated Champions League winners Man. Utd in the Supercup 2-1 goals from Pogrebnyak & Danny & theres a lot of unknown big talents and great players waiting to be discovered in the Russian Premier League and i think they have a better league than the German, the Dutch.. Need any more reasons why Zenit and the whole Russian league should be in the game??

    The scottish 1st division should be added to fifa 09 coz the scots are well better than the english !!!!! Also Ibrox and Celtic Park should be added as i am a Glasgow Rangers fan and getting fed up with playing in crappy stadiums come on newcastle have there stadium in fifa and rangers and celtic are well better than them ???????

    The Blue Square Premier is a must have league now, and at a game today in the programme it stated that Ebbsfleet were sponsored byFIF09... maybe something in that?

    But the Blue Square has so many big names in now the league needs to be added, such names as Oxford United, Torquay, Wrexham... It makes sence.

    I agreee about the romanian, the russian and the greek leagues to be added to Fifa 09 but why not consider also including the leagues of Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia. Or at the very least the best club or two from these leagues. In doing so EA would prove that they care about football as a true world game, not just a game for the longer established leagues and countries which does not necessarily mean that they are better. So please EA consider these leagues again and spread the good game everywhere. Go VARDAR.

    i would like the rusina premier league,romanian league,serbian league grece leagu and ukraine league in fifa09.i don't understand what is with the ireland's ,australian and koreean league in fifa,because this leagues are so weak.

    The Rusian league has to be automaticly in fifa09,because te Rusia neationalyti team has reaced the semi-finals of the European Cup,zenit have won the UEFA cup & the Supercup of Europe.i'm from Romania but the Rusian League must be in fifa 09.

    In my opinion the leagues that must be added are:
    Russian(great teams and players)
    Argentinian(by adding it they must also add Copa Libertadores.Their league is one of the best and many talents are produced every year)
    Romanian(Steaua and Cluz are doing exeptionally well,many great players are Romanian such as Mutu)
    Greek(teams like Olympiakos and Panathinaikos have great history: olymiakos every year takes part in uefa or champions league,panathinaikos takes part in champions league and has spent millions to sign players like gilberto silva,the champions league cup final took part in Athens,the greek national team took the uero in Portugal for years ago)
    Ukranian:(Saxtar is a great team which spends a lot of money to buy players)
    Crotian(teams like dinamo zagreb,slaven koprivnitsa and xindouk are great!!! croatia has talents like modric,bojan and i believe that will be a good idea to be added on)


    They can make a tournament of euro 2008 and Mundial 2006

    In the rest of the world can be added:Mondevideo F.C(Uruguay),Aris(Greece(took part in uefa and has great players),Panionios(signed Recoba and Estoianof),Steaua(Romania),Cluz(Romania),Saxtar(Ukrania),Kuyiouftsi(Uzbekistan signed Rivaldo),Dinamo Zagreb(Croatia),Mpate Borisof(Belarus qualified for champions league),Anorthosis(Cyprus),TSSKA Sofia(Bulgary),Zenit(Russia),Dinamo Kieb(Ukrania),TSSKA Moskow(Russia),Dinamo Moscow(Russia),Red Star Beligrad(Serbia),Partizan(Serbia)

    3.The fans should be more real
    4.Some new leagues: the romanian championship,the russian championship, the argentinian championship, the greek championship, some new national teams and more teams at Rest of the world

    I like the list of new leagues, the game was really in need for the russian, and argetinian league; but as said they should have add lower divisions for greater leagues, like for example, spanish, french, german, etc...; I also think that mexican 1a (second division) should be added, but its just my opinion.

    I am wondering after i read theese comments why Romania Liga 1 isn`t included in fifa 2009 and player like Adrian Mutu have other name like : Andrei Murgu.
    1. Ea sports will include leagues where the game will be bought by humans.
    2.Adrian Mutu was caught taking drugs so ea sports didn`t want to show his name.

    Let`s say that...: If Red Star Belgrad will win Champions League and in serbia ea sports produced 3000 euro and in australia ea sports produced 1 milion a dolars where do you think they aply for national league?

    I WANT TO SEE THE IRISH PREMIER LEAGUE (NORTHERN IRELAND) BEACAUSE I COME FROM NORTHERN IRELAND AND LOVE LINFIELD. AND EVER YEAR I HEAR THE IRSIH PREMIER LEAGUE OF NORTHERN IRELAND IS GOING TO BE IN IT AND EVERY YEAR ITS NOT. JUST BECAUSE ITS NOT BIG LIKE THE ENGLISH LEAGUES DOES NOT MEAN IT SHOULDNT BE THERE.     Irish eircom league produce good talent and deserve there status in the fifa games afterall you wouldnt find people like kevin Doyle, celtics Pat McCourt, Readings Shane Long etc in the scotish 2nd and 3rd divisions!! and a stadium that should be added is irelands 75 000 seater stadium croke park.

    This FIFA 09 game should include Maracana Stadium (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) since it is the greater stadium in the world and it was included at Fifa 98. In addition to South America, it could be included La Bombonera stadium (Boca Junior's stadium). Definatelly, it would be very interesting to see how EA would manage all the noise from Boca fans. Honestly, having the Argentina League and the Copa Libertadores would be very nice and of course, including some other south american teams at the rest of the world option such as LDU, Nacional from Uruguay among others......

    the northern irish league or the jjb sports premiership as it is now known is a quality league and linfield and glentoran get into the qualifiers for the champions league and the uefa cup. Also it has had a large amount of money put into the game over the last year aincluding jjb giving money for the name. Drop the FAI its not half as good as the northern irish league.

    Dundee, Dunfermilne, St Johnstone, Queen of the South (oh who by the way just happened to be in the qualifing for the UEFA CUP 2008/2009) are by far good enough teams in the SFL 1 to compete in the Coca-cola league 1 in England (hhhtoo) and would pump all the teams in the League 2! All the teams I have mentioned above have a deep history in Scottich football and Europe!!! Please state any Historical facts??? about the MIGHTY F*CKING English (hhhtoo) league 1 and 2. Just so happens that the greatest manager to grace the earth, SIR Alex Ferguson, played for Dunfermilne (in the UEFA CUP) and St Johnstone.

    Sorry mate but the Scottish First Division is far stronger than the top levels of Northern Ireland and Wales and would therefore prove a great addition and only a fair one considering that England has 92 clubs in the game! What about the Ukrainian league though (I'd love to play as Shakhtar)? I definetly agree on the Russian league and wouldn't complain about the Romanian and Argentine inclusions but don't even consider Northern Ireland/Wales/Irish 2nd before the Greek league is added. I can't believe Panathinaikos were left out of 08 - half of Athens probably refused to buy it when they found out! The Rest of the World section should be expanded though and get rid of those dodgy Swiss teams that always seem to crop up in it. Teams like Red Star and Partizan Belgrade, Kaunas, Artmedia Bratislava, Al Ahly, and generally the champions from nations which aren't strong enough to have their entire league put in here.

    Lets hope they add some more stadiums as well!

    The Romanian,Argentinian and Russian Will be!!! EA has made an announcement about those 3 leagues!!! Because the did a lot of work on grafics and will be really updated not plenty of leagues will be in!! i have to agree with Matt because I am from Greece and lot of people didn't buy it!!! Luckily, I am member in a site that every year comes up with a patch!! Last year it contained the 3 Greek divisions!! at February the patch for 09 will be ready!! The site is: www.greeksuperpatch.com
    I believe that not many national teams will be in because i find it very foolish!!! its better to add one more league rather than 5 national teams without EURO or World Cup!!!
    As for why panathinaikos wasn't in the game was because the didn't take the license!!
    Be patient FIFA 09 is coming on October the third!!!!! we will see about the stadiums the teams the players the leagues the grafics

    new fifa 09 should have all the teams leagues and stadiums of fifa 07 plus some extra leagues like;the romanian serbian russian czech and argentinian , the rest of the worl clubs should be added teams like .;ferencvarus ,dinamo kiev,dinamo tbissi,slovan bratislav,penarol nacional montevideo olimpia and the copa libertadores has the proper international cups leagues ands other domestic trophis...has i remember , the belgium cup was the euro cup ... has this for some of us can make the diference betwin buy or not to buy the game...

    The idea that the Welsh and Irish leagues should be in the game but not the USL is ridiculous. The USL always does a good job against MLS sides, always makes runs in the US Open cup, and right now both USL sides are in better position then the two MLS sides still in the CONCACAF champions league. Not to mention, the USL sides had to win their way in. The two MLS sides that had to do that didn't make it.

    i believe if they want to make the best game every eventually they will have to add all of these leagues which will take alot of work to create but after creating that they will be completley ahead of pes games

    also they will have to create more stadiums for teams in lower leagues aswell as higher leagues because how many stadiums do you play in in the game that have trees and 1/2 stands but if they did make lots of small leagues they would be acceptable to use.

    I Know the Russian league should be added but could too many leagues ruin FIFA, have you ever been to a Irish League (NI) match, I have,THE STANDARD IS PATHETIC. If you want all these leagues why dont you have the best teams from the leagues you stated and the other leagues previous comments have included in the rest of the world but you can play this league in manger mode.
